Roundtrip to Yucatan & Quintana Roo (South of México)
From the 5th till the 14th of December we made an amazing road trip to the south of México where we travelled through the states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo. We began our trip in Cancun, rented a car and started some unforgettable days. After one night in Cancun we drove up to the famous island "Isla Holbox" and made a nice boat tour where we got to see some cristal clear water, lots of animals and the stunning nature of the south. It was the first time in my life I saw flamingos with my own eyes, this was such a breathtaking moment! The next day we visited the city Valladolid and some nice "Cenotes" around the city, as well as "El Cuyo", a small town at the beach. During this trip we also stopped in Merida, afterwards at the famous ruins in Chichen Itza as well as in Coba, where you can also find Mayan ruins, in Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres. Those days we saw lots of different animals, sundowns, cenotes and beaches. Although it is very touristic in the south of México, I really loved it there. Especially the boat trips, cenotes and the history of Chichen Itza were really interesting and gorgeous.
On the 15th of December, our last stop in México was the remarkable town Bacalar. Bacalar is just around 37 kilometers from Belize away but definitely worth a visit. The beautiful blue water in the lagune of Bacalar is really amazing. We made a boat tour - again haha - and were able to get in touch with this paradise and to see what nature is capable of.

Vom 5. bis 14. Dezember machten wir einen fantastischen Roadtrip in den Süden Mexikos, wo wir durch die Bundesstaaten Yucatan und Quintana Roo reisten. Wir begannen unsere Reise in Cancun, mieteten ein Auto und starteten in ein paar unvergessliche Tage. Nach einer Nacht in Cancun fuhren wir auf die berühmte Insel "Isla Holbox" und machten eine schöne Bootstour, bei der wir kristallklares Wasser, viele Tiere und die atemberaubende Natur des Südens zu sehen bekamen. Es war das erste Mal in meinem Leben, dass ich Flamingos mit meinen eigenen Augen gesehen habe. Das war so ein atemberaubender Moment! Am nächsten Tag besuchten wir die Stadt Valladolid und einige schöne "Cenotes" rund um die Stadt, sowie "El Cuyo", ein kleines Fischerörtchen am Strand. Während dieser Reise machten wir auch einen Zwischenstopp in Merida, danach bei den berühmten Ruinen in Chichen Itza sowie in Coba, wo man ebenfalls Maya-Ruinen finden kann, in Tulum, Playa del Carmen und Isla Mujeres. Während diesem Trip haben wir viele verschiedene exotische Tiere, Sonnenuntergänge, Cenoten und Strände gesehen. Obwohl es im Süden Mexikos sehr touristisch ist, hat es mir dort wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Vor allem die Bootstouren, die Cenoten und die Geschichte des Chichen Itza waren sehr interessant und einfach umwerfend.
Am 15. Dezember war unser letzter Halt in Mexiko die wunderschöne Destination Bacalar. Bacalar liegt nur etwa 37 Kilometer von Belize entfernt, ist aber auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert. Das wunderschöne blaue Wasser in der Lagune von Bacalar ist einfach unglaublich. Wir haben eine Bootstour gemacht - wieder mal haha - und konnten so mit diesem Paradies in Berührung kommen und sehen, wozu die Natur fähig ist.
