Cascadas de Huaxtla
The first Sunday of October we went to the waterfalls of Huaxtla near to Guadalajara. Thanks to our Mexican friends we had the chance to go there by car because with most other means of transportation it would have been really hard to get to this breathtaking place of Guadalajara´s nature. The waterfalls are part of the Zapopan district but they are already a bit outside the city, so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous landscape out there. I was so glad that after a while we returned to the nature of Guadalajara. To get to the waterfalls, we had to do a little hike, so we were happy to jump into the water afterwards. There are a total of three waterfalls on the hike and we visited the first two (cascada "Rey León" and cascada "Salto del Toro") because we were told that the third one was a bit dangerous. No matter what color or degree the water was - we enjoyed it and jumped in for a swim. Our friends clarified that due to the rainy season, the water is still a bit brown and not that clear as it should be but in the next few months it will turn a beautiful blue since the rainy season is almost over. So we definitely have to go there again!

Am ersten Sonntag im Oktober fuhren wir zu den Wasserfällen von Huaxtla nahe von Guadalajara. Dank unserer mexikanischen Freunde hatten wir die Möglichkeit mit dem Auto dorthin zu fahren, denn mit den meisten anderen Verkehrsmitteln wäre es wirklich schwierig gewesen an diesen atemberaubenden Ort in der Natur Guadalajaras zu gelangen. Die Wasserfälle gehören zum Bezirk Zapopan, liegen aber schon etwas außerhalb der Stadt, so dass wir die herrliche Landschaft abseits des Stadttrubels genießen konnten. Ich war so froh, dass wir nach einiger Zeit wieder in die Natur von Guadalajara zurückkehrten. Um zu den Wasserfällen zu gelangen mussten wir eine kleine Wanderung unternehmen, weshalb wir uns danach freuten, ins Wasser zu springen. Es gibt dort insgesamt drei Wasserfälle und wir besuchten die ersten beiden (cascada "Rey León" und cascada "Salto del Toro"), weil uns gesagt wurde, dass der dritte etwas gefährlich sei. Egal, welche Farbe oder wie viel Grad das Wasser hatte - wir genossen es und sprangen zum Schwimmen hinein. Unsere Freunde erklärten uns, dass das Wasser aufgrund der Regenzeit noch etwas braun und nicht so klar ist, wie es sein sollte, aber in den nächsten Monaten wird es sich in ein schönes Blau verwandeln, da die Regenzeit nun bald vorbei ist. Wir müssen also auf jeden Fall wieder hinfahren!
